Model Camp Au sells to previous student [ BREAKING ]

Congratulations are in order for the new owner of Model Camp Australia - Tahlia Segaram.

It’s time for me to say goodbye !

I had a vision 12 years ago to create a platform for aspiring models to pursue their dreams in this industry.

This started off as a promotional modelling agency and has developed into a large scaled modelling academy with an attached modelling agency and creative production agency. Not only do I love what I do, I’m so proud that I have created jobs for thousands of people along the way.

Growing up as a tom boy, my passion for fashion was discovered accidentally. I was reluctantly forced to accompany my eldest sister to her modelling class at the local Rec centre. They were practising their fancy routine to Toni Braxton’s “He wasn’t man enough for me” when I was asked to fill in for an absent student. My teacher discovered that I had a natural Naomi Campbell walk -her words not mine . Fast forward to the next week and little 13 year old me was an official student.

And in a true full circle moment, I have sold Model Camp Australia to one of my graduates, Tahlia Segaram. Here’s what’s even cooler, we went to the same modelling academy as kids .

My heart is full and so grateful for everyone that has been a part of my MCA journey - especially to every student that has walked through our doors (I’m going to miss you guys calling me Mom).

Thank you to my clients, photographers, videographers, make up artists, hair artists, stylists (especially my personal fav Aniqua), models, parents, suppliers, brands who have collaborated with me.. the list goes on! So much love for you all.

Although I am taking a big step away from the business, I will still be working closely with Tahlia and Aniqua to continue to offer you everything you love about Model Camp Au and so much more.

Help me get through this bittersweet moment by sharing a memory or experience you have had with me or MCA.

Keep following your dreams my beauties.

Love + Light Yasmin Walter.
